Series HOME: functionality and design for all phases of life |
 |
Every day begins and ends in the bathroom. That is why it is right and important that this room receives the attention it deserves. The demands made on it have changed in the course of the decades: while its only purpose was simple personal hygiene in the past, the focus today is on wellness as harmony of body, mind and soul. This elevated demand requires an adequate ambience one can enjoy in all phases of life: from the time of living with the children in the early years up to the mature age. For this reason, versatile room concepts are increasingly gaining importance which offer comfort by functionality and design - just as the newly created series HOME. more |

iF product design award 2010
Renewed success with all candidates |
 |
Design competitions are valuable orientation guides to discover outstanding solutions within the wide range of products offered on the market. This applies in particular to extremely versatile products such as ceramic tiles, which are available in countless versions. Against this background, AGROB BUCHTAL had already successfully participated in the red dot design award competition: in 2008, the series BOSCO was among the winners, and in 2009, even two series (REFLEX and VISION) were awarded this coveted prize. more |

Witness to contemporary architecture
Church of St. John Evangelist and Parish Center at Zagreb/Croatia
|
 |
The planning of sacral buildings is a complex and at the same time challenging task which focuses on expressing spirituality by an adequate architecture. This requires a high degree of sensitivity: on the one hand, the building’s outward appearance should be eye-catching and indicate what is happening inside; on the other hand, reservation is necessary in order to do justice to the dignity of a religious place, to stimulate the spiritual collection and to convey meditative quiet. The achieving of this demanding goal is decisively supported by the appropriate use of colours and forms, well-balanced proportions and the careful choice of materials. A remarkable example for this is the “Church of St. John Evangelist“ with the Parish Center placed next to it at Zagreb. more |

KeraTwin® K20:
Brand-new intelligent facade system |
 |
For some good reasons, the facade is considered as supreme discipline of architecture: this structural element is publicly visible round the clock, gives buildings a face and lends towns their unmistakable character. Similarly elevated are the functional requirements: the building shell is permanently exposed to the weather conditions and quite decisively influences the energetic and thus the financial balance. more |

novelty of the 2010 range
Series CHROMA PLAY!: creativity pure… |
 |
Public areas like e.g. indoor swimming pools, foyers, schools, stairwells, administration buildings, underground car parks, underground stations or facades are frequently characterized by large continuous wall surfaces. Due to their enormous dimensions, these building elements very often convey a monotonous and “inhuman“ impression, as they are unattractive to the eye in the true sense of the word. This effect is even stronger if there is no visual and tactile structuring at all. Typical examples are painted or coated surfaces which - in the worst case - are in a shabby condition in addition. Or colours are chosen without any sensibility, thus causing a very disagreeable sensory overload begging for nothing but attention. Both extremes are not recommendable in public areas, as there - in contrast to the own four walls - the general public is affected. more |

red dot design award 2009
Success rate of 100% for AGROB BUCHTAL |
 |
Renowned design competitions are an important benchmark: manufacturers and developers can directly compete against each other, potential buyers are given a valuable orientation aid for above-average design quality. Besides formal requirements, importance is also attached to other criteria such as e.g. degree of innovation, functionality, ecological compatibility, durability or the emotional content of a product. One of the internationally most famous prizes is the red dot design award. This year, Deutsche Steinzeug participated with two series of the brand AGROB BUCHTAL. The proud end result: a success rate of 100%, because all both candidates were awarded the coveted red dot design award. more |

SPECTRAVIEW: facades with system, colour and harmony |
 |
For some good reasons, the facade is considered as a “supreme discipline“ of architecture, because this structural member is publicly visible round the clock and decisively characterizes the appearance of buildings. AGROB BUCHTAL has been operating in this demanding sector for decades. For further pushing the present growth in this field, a new colour system especially for facades has been created. more |
