Agrob Buchtal-Letter | 01/2017

Dear Newsletter Subscriber,

Ceramic tiles are often to be found in areas of public life. Whereas one will not be surprised to find this material in a swimming pool complex such as the new Danube Arena in Budapest, the façade elements of the new annex of Duke University in North Carolina are not easily distinguished as being made out of ceramic. Again, it shows how versatile architectural ceramics are.

Yours sincerely,
Your AGROB BUCHTAL Team
Danube Arena: Water sports cathedral for the best of the world

Major sporting events such as Olympic Games or world championships are fascinating people all around the globe. Accordingly great was the significance of this year’s swimming WC in Budapest, Hungary, which ended in late July. The Duna Aréna (Engl. “Danube Arena“) as main competition site is impressive because of its special position, striking architecture and pools in a class of their own. Ceramic tiles “Made in Germany” of the brand AGROB BUCHTAL play a central part in this connection

Duke University: A place to eat and meet

Grimshaw’s transformation of Duke University’s West Campus Student Union building in Durham, North Carolina, USA, is one of the eight shortlisted projects for the AJ100 Building of the Year Award 2017. The project comprises the careful renovation of an existing neo-gothic building, designed in the late 1920s by Julian Abele from the Horace Trumbauer office, and an expansion, which forms the core of the complex. This central piece is an atrium made of glass, steel, and ceramic fins, manufactured by AGROB BUCHTAL.

Full steam ahead to the customer

Thanks to the particular authorisation (AEO-F) of the EU Customs Code, freight shipments by Deutsche Steinzeug AG are handled faster. The AEO-F (Authorized Economic Operator) seal of quality stands for “Customs Simplification and Security & Safety”. It helps to protect the national and international supply chain between Deutsche Steinzeug AG and its sales companies AGROB BUCHTAL GmbH and Jasba Mosaik GmbH and their trading partners. As a global supplier, this sends a particularly important signal to customers when it comes to reliability and trustworthiness.
